Dallas residents are continuing their fight against STRs as the solution is simple: STRs are commercial hotels (as defined by the city and the state) and therefore should not be allowed to operate in residential areas. To address the issue, the city has established a deeply flawed STR task force, in which the vast majority of members are pro-STR, including a paid Airbnb lobbyist from outside the city.
